This fly has a history not many people know about. One of our favorite anglers, Dr. Flip Taylor brought these flies to Guanaja in the early days. He told us how his Dad invented the pattern many years ago. Orvis tested it and found bonefish to eat it at every single destination. They offered Dr. Taylor Sr. a fly rod for the pattern. He refused. They took the pattern anyway and called it the Mini Puff. So not only have we engineered this fly in a variety of colors, with better materials, weed guards, we’ve given the rightful name back to the Doctor.
