Guide Buggers *NEW*

A baby brother to the Trout Stringer, our Guide Bugger uses an irresistible combination of Extreme String and Guard Hair Chenille from Semper Fli of England. This material moves with the realism of marabou and hackle with a UV flash that is just perfect for making this a dead ringer for just about any minnow, dace, alewife, white-bait or shiner most trout commonly feed on.

We tie the Guide Bugger on a premium barbless Firehole 811S for rock-solid holding power and minimal damage to the fish's mouth.

GUIDE TIP:

The Guide bugger is tied without any weight. We use this fly a lot in tandem streamer rigs, either in front of a larger streamer like the Trout Stringer to attract a larger trout to the larger fly or as a trailer for times where trout may be short striking at larger flies and preferring a less filling meal.

During really slow winter bites we've had great success dead drifting the Guide Bugger in deeper pools under a Guide Floater. The synthetic Extreme String really entices bites better than marabou and doesn't get brittle like marabou in winter temperatures.
