welcome to     guide flies

Get ahead of the holidays with our Brand new Signature trout fly kits and Saltwater destination Kits

Guide flies Makes better flies for better lives

We started Guide Flies with a mission to provide anglers with durable, custom, and often secret flies that guides have trusted for years. We do this while building the island community of Guanaja, Honduras with trained jobs as highly skilled fly tiers. Our team of fly tiers are know a the Guanaja Fly Tyers Guild. The current Covid-19 crisis has pushed many of our tiers families to their limits and we appreciate the support.

Every time you purchase a Guide Fly, you can feel confident that it was tied by one of our highly skilled tiers and created with the highest standards of fair trade. Our tiers love fly fishing as much as you do, and our team is excited to share our hand-tied flies and knowledge with you.

Every Guide Fly you purchase directly supports the Fish For Change program and creates more employment opportunities that the Island of Guanaja desperately needs.

INSPIRATION and Innovation

Permit are known as the most challenging fish in the world to catch on a fly. These elusive fish have been our mantra, puzzle, obsession, and inspiration.

Creators of Guide Fly patterns all have extensive experience developing flies in Guanaja in addition to the other fisheries they guide on.  Big challenging fish, combined with varied terrain, put our tiers to the ultimate challenge over the years in Guanaja.  They’ve developed several new patterns that are now crucial to fishing in Guanaja and have proven themselves in other Caribbean fisheries.  If the fly works in Guanaja, it destroys everywhere else.
